Abstract

Minasate'ne District is one of the sub-districts in the Pangkajene and Islands Regency (Pangkep) which is about 47 km from the Makassar UPBJJ-UT Office towards the north or about 1 km from Pangkajene, the capital city of Pangkep Regency. Community empowerment regarding assistance in making dried herbarium for elementary school teachers in Minasate'ne District, Pangkep Regency which was carried out with the aim of gaining knowledge and skills about: (1) understanding herbarium (2) how to make dry herbarium and (3) practice of making dried herbarium. Community service activities are carried out for one year. The methods used in this service activity are lectures, questions and answers and demonstrations on how to make dried herbarium. Monitoring and evaluation activities are carried out to see the success of the community service that has been carried out, especially the manufacture of dried herbarium. The implementation of community service is based on the fulfillment of indicators of the community service process and the resulting product. The results of the evaluation showed that the participants were very enthusiastic in participating in the training and were active in asking questions during the presentation of the material by the resource persons. It can be concluded that community service has been implemented according to the plan starting from the understanding of herbarium, how to make dry herbarium and practice of making dried herbarium. This can be seen from the success of participants who have participated in community service activities and have succeeded in applying their knowledge and experience to their peers, even to their students in class. elementary school.
