Abstract

In managing fish auction places, sanitation issues are often overlooked. Poor sanitation management and insufficient sanitation facilities may cause losses to the trade in fishery products. The income of fisherwomen will also be affected by these losses.  Community service activities through the Science and Technology program for the Community (IbM) at Fish Auction Place  Menganti Kisik, in Menganti village, Kesugihan District, Cilacap Regency are focussed to empower fishermen women about the importance of sanitation management of the fish auction site.  The method used is training and demonstration of how to practice good hygiene TPI.  The participants of the program were members of Fish Auction Place Menganti Kisik fishermen's women group. The results of empowerment through training and practice were responded positively by participants. The socialization program of the importance of TPI sanitation in the long term is expected to be a pilot for other groups of women fishermen in TPI to implement good practices to maintain the cleanliness of TPI so that fish products sold are maintained freshness in terms of quality and quality.
