During the pandemic, students and teachers are required to be literate in information and communication technology for learning in class. Before the pandemic students could find information from books, so now manuals are not the only source of information. Sophisticated technology and information make it easier for students to access information from their gadgets. This study aims to optimize the role of devices for the learning process and minimize the negative impact of using devices in class VIII-A at SMPN 2 Rogojampi. In this study the authors collected data through observation and test techniques. Then the results of the research were analyzed to find out exactly the effect of optimizing the device on the learning process. From the results of the research in general, the use of devices in the learning process is not maximized because there are some teachers who are not yet able to use technology and information and students who tend to use devices for things outside of learning. The author hopes that by increasing the ability of teachers to use information technology, it will make it easier for teachers to optimize the function of devices in learning.
