Abstract

This research was conducted based on observational data on students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al-Hikmah Pucangsimo which showed the ability to write free essay texts in Indonesian lessons. To address this, the researchers conducted Classroom Action Research (PTK) with the aim of improving Writing Ability on Free Essay material. Achievement of the objectives in this study include: 1) Knowing the process of implementing the Outdoor Learning Method. 2) Knowing that there is an increase in the ability to write Free Essays with Outdoor Learning Methods. Model Kemmis and Mc. Taggart is a class Action Research carried out in this study. Class VII A is the target of this study with 26 students the number of students in the class. The focus of this research is on efforts to improve the ability to write free essay text. The existence of an increase in students' ability to write free essays is the result of the success of this study. With the outdor learning method students can get direct thoughts about many things from the surrounding environment which can then be poured in the form of free essay writing. From the data obtained, it is highly expected that teachers will participate in implementing outdoor learning methods in Indonesian subjects in improving students' ability to write free essays.
