Abstract

Indonesian is the official language used in Indonesia. This is the main focus of the author in the process of making this paper. Because there are still many remote areas in Indonesia that do not use Indonesian, in this case several factors have caused this to happen. Society and the environment control our language by giving preference or choice of what is acceptable and not, because each of us has our own perception or point of view. Some people may accept our language, but for others, it can be a kind of offense or humiliation. We must know how, when and where to say it and for what purpose. Social changes produce language changes. It affects values in ways that are not yet accurately understood. Language incorporates social values. However, social values are only the same as linguistic values if the society is stable and does not change. As society begins to change, language changes produce special effects.
