Abstract

The low interest of students in the field of study of Indonesian causes most students to be less enthusiastic about following the lessons delivered by the teacher, so that in the end student achievement is low. By looking at these conditions the teacher tries to improve learning by carrying out Classroom Action Research (CAR). The purpose of this research is to increase students' interest in studying Indonesian, the material describes objects and events, fantasy stories using the Cooperative Learning type Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) method in class VII MTs. Al-Muhajirin Ahuawatu, Pondidaha District, Konawe Regency. The subject of this research is class VII MTs. Al-Muhajirin Ahuawatu, totaling 38 people. The data obtained through the results of student evaluations and observations by observers. This research was conducted in two cycles. The results showed that in each cycle there was evidence of progress in the first cycle of student interest reaching 20 students (52.63%). Then in the improvement of cycle II there was an increase in student learning interest of 31 students (81.57%). This proves that using the Cooperative Learning method of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) type can increase student learning interest in the Indonesian language study material describing objects and events, fantasy stories.
