PENERAPAN METODE DEMONSTRASI DALAM MENGEMBANGKAN KETERAMPILAN MEMBACA PUISI PADA MATA PELAJARAN BAHASA INDONESIA
Abstract
The application of the demonstration method is very important in learning Indonesian poetry in Vocational High Schools. The role of the demonstration method is to provide a learning experience through the act of seeing and listening followed by imitating the work being demonstrated. By using the demonstration method in poetry learning students can easily imitate and understand techniques in reading poetry correctly and can easily apply it in learning poetry at school. The focus in this study included four types, namely, to obtain information on the use of the demonstration method on poetry reading skills, to find out the process carried out by the teacher during the lesson, to find out the technique of teaching poetry using the demonstration method and the obstacles experienced in teaching poetry in elementary schools. This type of research is a qualitative research with descriptive method. The data collection process uses interviews, observation, documentation and data analysis. The participants in this study were school principals, Indonesian language teachers, and students at the study sites. This research was conducted at SMK Negeri 1 Puncak Cisarua, Cisarua District, Bogor Regency. This research was conducted in October 2022. The activities carried out to analyze the data consisted of the data reduction process, data display and conclusions. The data validation technique uses source triangulation and technique triangulation. Based on the results of the research on the application of the demonstration method in reading poetry in the Indonesian language subject, it was found that the use of the demonstration method in learning poetry was very well used. In the demonstration method students are asked to pay attention and understand the poetry read by the teacher using good and correct poetry reading techniques. Students are also asked to be able to read poetry using the techniques taught by the teacher. It is hoped that students can make poetry according to the results of student creativity and interesting to read and learn.
