Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the use of language in society, namely the use of two or more languages, commonly called bilingualism or bilingualism. This research uses qualitative and sociolinguistic methods. The subjects of this study were laundry and kitchen employees of Yayasan An Nadzir Kp. Cukang Walukon, Kamasan Village, Cinangka District, Serang Regency, Banten Province. Research data were obtained by interview, observation and questionnaire dissemination techniques. From this research, it is expected to be useful for people who are studying bilingualism as well as an effort to preserve language. This research was taken because they often heard the laundry and kitchen employees of the An Nadzir Foundation who use mixed languages (Indonesian, Javanese, and Sundanese). It's rare to hear them use one language. Although there are still many local languages among employees, they will use Indonesian when talking to teachers and students. They often use regional languages among fellow employees, because the language that is often used in the same area is Sundanese.
