Abstract

Language activities cover four skills, namely listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Reading as one of the language skills we should have well because it is a daily necessity. At this time, many people start their morning activities by reading, such as reading newspapers or other reading. Similarly, a student will often be faced with books that must be read. Therefore, we must have a way to deal with reading materials so that we can understand them properly, especially reading materials related to books for study purposes or other scientific books.

The reason this research raises about reading, especially reading comprehension is due to the lack of students' reading ability. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. This study seeks to describe the process of applying the SQ3R technique in reading comprehension. The application of the SQ3R technique is also expected to assist students in carrying out reading comprehension activities. This is done so that students more easily understand the contents of the reading and capture in detail the contents of the reading they are reading.
