Biology is one of the important branches of science to be studied by high school students. Biology lessons equip students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to overcome problems they find in the environment while empowering various skills in students, such as critical thinking skills, creative thinking, and science process skills. Teachers must use practicum-based biology learning. Generally, practicum activities are carried out in science laboratories. The laboratory is a place where experiments and research are carried out. The completeness and condition of laboratory facilities and infrastructure are essential to support implementing practicum activities. Therefore, it is necessary to research the obstacles biology teachers face in high schools in Serang
City in the implementation of biology practicums. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method. The results showed that 20% of biology teachers in high schools throughout Serang City rarely use the practicum method. The knowledge of 50% of biology teachers about practicums is quite good. As many as 83% of high schools in Serang City have Biology laboratories. The condition of the laboratory is sound and well-maintained, reasonable, and poorly maintained, with the same percentage of 39%. Biology Laboratories equipment is 52% complete but in poor condition or cannot be used. The availability of chemicals in Biology laboratories is 70% incomplete.
