Abstract

The Baduy tribe, located in Lebak Regency, Banten Province, is one of the indigenous tribes in Indonesia that has life principles in upholding customs and maintaining the balance of nature. Green Chemistry studied by high school students has 12 principles closely related to the environment and sustainability. On the other hand, there are several obstacles in implementing Green Chemistry in schools. This research is a research using the Literature Review method. The data used is secondary data obtained from scientific journals within the last 5 years through the Google Scholar search service. The purpose of this study is to understand the wisdom and way of life of the Baduy Tribe in more depth so that it can be implemented in Chemistry learning, especially Green Chemistry material, so that Generation Z has a concern for the environment and sustainability. The results show that the Baduy Tribe's lifestyle is in line with the principles of Green Chemistry which focus on the use of renewable raw materials, pollution prevention, environmental pollution, and the use of environmentally friendly chemicals. Teachers can implement Green Chemistry in the classroom by reflecting on the wisdom of the Baduy Tribe in the form of project-based learning so that students who are Generation Z can learn the principles of Green Chemistry directly and grow a love for the environment so that in the future they will have a habitable earth.

 

Suku Baduy berlokasi di Kabupaten Lebak Provinsi Banten merupakan salah satu suku adat di Indonesia yang memiliki prinsip hidup yang kuat dalam memegang adat istiadat dan menjaga keseimbangan alam. Kimia Hijau yang dipelajari oleh peserta didik jenjang SMA memiliki 12 prinsip yang berkaitan erat dengan lingkungan dan keberlanjutan. Di sisi lain, ada beberapa kendala dalam penerapan Kimia Hijau di Sekolah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dengan menggunakan metode Kajian Pustaka. Data yang digunakan merupakan data sekunder yang diperoleh dari jurnal ilmiah dalam rentang 5 tahun terakhir melalui layanan pencarian Google Scholar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kearifan dan cara hidup Suku Baduy lebih mendalam agar dapat diimplementasikan dalam pembelajaran Kimia khususnya materi Kimia Hijau, sehingga Generasi Z memiliki kepedulian terhadap lingkungan dan keberlanjutan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pola hidup Suku Baduy sejalan dengan prinsip Kimia Hijau yang fokus pada pemanfaatan bahan baku terbarukan, pencegahan polusi, pencemaran lingkungan, serta penggunaan bahan kimia ramah lingkungan. Guru dapat mengimplementasikan Kimia Hijau di kelas dengan merefleksi kearifan Suku Baduy dalam bentuk pembelajaran berbasis proyek agar peserta didik yang merupakan Generasi Z dapat mempelajari prinsip Kimia Hijau secara langsung dan tumbuhnya kecintaan pada lingkungan sehingga di masa depan mereka mempunyai bumi yang layak untuk ditinggali.

Alipni Umul Umahat is a teacher enthusiastic about developing science learning through creative learning media and a student-centered approach. Alipni is currently focused on developing learning media focused on acids and bases, making them accessible to a wider audience. Alipni is also an active member of the Dharma Wanita Persatuan organization, which supports women's potential and creativity.

Prof. Udan Kusmawan, M.A., Ph.D. is a Professor of Education at Universitas Terbuka, Indonesia. His research focuses on STEM education, teacher training, and curriculum innovation through technology-enhanced learning. He has developed the Virtual Laboratory (VIRLAB) and holds a simple patent for the Science Practicum Method through Scalable Practicum, designed to support flexible and scalable science learning in open and distance education. Prof. Udan currently serves as the Chief Editor of the International Journal of Research in STEM Education (IJRSE).
