This study explores the potential of contextualized learning as a solution to provide meaningful education for Generation Z and Generation Alpha in Indonesia’s 3T regions (frontier, outermost, and disadvantaged areas). Using a systematic literature review guided by the PRISMA 2020 framework, it synthesizes national and international research from 2015–2025. Findings indicate that contextual learning—by connecting instructional content to daily life, integrating local wisdom, and utilizing simple digital tools—enhances engagement and relevance for digital-native learners. The main obstacles in 3T regions include limited infrastructure, restricted internet access, and insufficient teacher capacity. However, these can be mitigated through adaptive, culturally intelligent approaches and innovations rooted in local resources. The study expands the concept of meaningful learning within the digital generation context, proposing a hybrid model that combines basic digital literacy with local potential. Practically, it recommends strengthening teacher competence, developing locally responsive curricula, and promoting inclusive, innovative strategies to reduce educational disparities. Future research should empirically test contextual learning models to evaluate their effectiveness in improving educational quality for young learners in Indonesia’s remote areas.
