Abstract

Adolescent anemia remains a global health concern with a high prevalence that affects academic performance and quality of life. School-based health education is generally informative but lacks depth, resulting in suboptimal behavioral change for anemia prevention. This literature review aims to analyze various school-based anemia prevention interventions by reviewing national and international articles published between 2019 and 2025. Findings indicate that deep learning strategies through contextual, collaborative, and reflective learning effectively improve nutritional literacy, healthy eating behavior, and social awareness. Peer education strengthens students’ responsibility and solidarity, while digital technology integration enhances interactivity and aligns with the learning style of Generation Z and Alpha. This review highlights that anemia education is not merely a health intervention but also a medium for character development in the digital era. Schools are recommended to adopt a deep learning-based anemia education model supported by teachers, peer educators, and digital platforms to promote sustainable prevention and lifelong learning.
