ANALYSIS OF COMMUNITY ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMS INCREASING WELFARE IN LACKWARD AREAS (CASE STUDY OF SIRI-SORI SERANI VILLAGE)

Abstract

This research targets the object of community economic empowerment towards improving the welfare of
disadvantaged areas. The purpose of this research is to analyze whether the community can be empowered
economically by providing various kinds of mentoring programs and so on, which will increase the level of
welfare in disadvantaged areas or not. This research uses a qualitative research type to describe the research
objectives and variables. The data in this research was collected by means of interviews, documentation and
direct observation or observation. Meanwhile, the method for analyzing data uses thematic and discourse
methods. The data used is primary data from observations and interviews and secondary data from
documentation. The research location is in Siri Sori Serani Village, East Saparua District. The results of this
research show that the implementation of empowerment and assistance programs for the welfare of
disadvantaged areas and communities has been carried out but has not been optimal and Siri Sori village,
based on the research results, is categorized as a disadvantaged village.
