PENINGKATAN LITERASI SEJARAH RADEN ARIA WANGSAKARA BAGI WARGA DESA LENGKONG KULON TANGERANG

Abstract

The founding of Tangerang City cannot be separated from the history of Raden Aria Wangsakara, a cleric, fighter and founder of Tangerang. Since November 10 2021, the President of the Republic of Indonesia has inaugurated Raden Aria Wangsakara as a national hero. This momentum needs to be followed up with concrete efforts to preserve the exemplary values of the struggle of Raden Aria Wangsakara who comes from Tangerang, especially the Lengkong Kulon area or also known as Lengkong Kyai. The Lengkong Kulon area is an area squeezed between the elite residential areas of BSD which consists of luxury buildings and excellent supporting infrastructure. Therefore, the service team carried out activities to increase awareness and knowledge of residents about the history of Raden Aria Wangsakara. This activity aims to improve the literacy skills of young people in Lengkong Kulon Village, especially regarding the historical relics of Raden Aria Wangsakara. The service team carried out book review activities and a writing competition and told the story of Raden Aria Wangsakara. In the context of development, studying the values of people's lives in the past is expected to be a guide for the community in choosing values that are relevant to the present. So it is hoped that the attitudes of the heroes' struggle can foster the enthusiasm of the younger generation in fulfilling development.
