APPLICATION OF INTEGRATED INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY IN EFFORTS TO IMPROVE THE PRODUCTIVITY OF TOBACCO FARMERS GROUPS IN CIMEUHMAL VILLAGE, SUBANG REGENCY

Abstract

One of the agricultural and plantation sectors that is currently the focus of the government is tobacco, one of the tobacco producing areas is in Cimeuhmal Village, Tanjuangsiang District, Subang Regency. There are five farmer groups in Cimeuhmal Village, one of which is the Caringin farmer group which has 20 farmer members. Currently, the Caringin farmer group receives assistance from the Subang Agriculture Service for the procurement of seeds and fertilizers, but for the management of data collection and control during planting, it is still done manually and does not use technology, including marketing of tobacco harvests. Tobacco planting has several important times, for example, fertilizing, counting the number of leaves, cutting the leaves if they have exceeded the maximum number (17-18), and checking for pests and pest control times. For this reason, it is necessary to apply technology with the development of a mobile-based information system for managing farmer data, land data, monitoring agricultural activities, automatic scheduling related to fertilizing, and caring for tobacco plants, reporting production results and creating a website to expand marketing and facilitate online transactions. The activity begins with identifying the needs of the Caringin farmer group, then determining the solution, namely the need for integrated technology utilization, the next activity is designing a mobile-based information system and website design, creating a mobile-based information system and marketing website to user acceptance test (UAT). After the development process is continued with mentoring and training for all members of the Caringin farmer group to be able to use the information system and manage the website so that the sales turnover of the Caringin farmer group increases by at least 50%.
