BIJAK BERSELANCAR DI DUNIA DIGITAL: MEMBANGUN ETIKA DIGITAL DEMI MASA DEPAN CEMERLANG

Abstract

Social media has now penetrated various user groups. From parents to students, users who are approaching adolescence such as junior high school students, are the most vulnerable users among other users. This is because their experience is generally still limited. Therefore, the Community Service Team (PKM) of the Communication Science Study Program, FHISIP-UT held a socialization on "Surfing wisely in the digital world: Building Digital Ethics for a Bright Future." The Community Service Team of FHISIP-UT conducted activities at SMP Islam Cijeruk, Bogor Regency. The activities include (1) Socialization on digital ethics to grade 9 students (2) previously a survey was conducted with the students of SMPI Cijeruk Bogor, and (3) a survey was conducted with their teachers for comparison and confirmation. The participants in the SMPI Cijeruk socialization numbered 79 students and 19 teachers. The evaluation results from the survey that had been filled out by the students and teachers showed that they were generally aware of the prohibition on bringing cellphones to school. However, the use of mobile phones in the family environment or at home is generally permitted by parents with time limits. This shows that in fact, people in the suburbs of big cities are still affected by social media but remain under control as long as they are under the supervision of teachers at school or parents at home.
