Abstract

Food business is one of the businesses that has experienced rapid development because food is a primary need, so it becomes a market opportunity and has good business prospects in the future. Currently, businesses in the snack food sector are quite popular with consumers, including Manihot Esculenta cassava chips and fried meatball chips. Both are student businesses in the Food Technology study program at the Open University. The main problems faced by the two Food Technology UMKM students are the production process which is still simple, does not yet have a trademark, does not have an SPP-IRT distribution permit and halal certificate, the packaging and storage process is not yet appropriate, and marketing techniques are not yet optimal. The results of this community service program are the issuance of a business license number (NIB), halal certificate, and SPP-IRT distribution permit certificate, and the trademark application process has been carried out. Thus, the existence of this community service program is expected to have a positive impact on business development and increased profits in the Manihot Esculenta cassava chips and grilled meatball businesses.
