Indonesia is estimated to have a golden generation in 2045. The presence of this generation can be ammunition to encourage the nation's economy because they are described as having characteristics such as proficient in technology and creative in innovating. The golden generation of Indonesia is also of course able to master English to compete in the global labor competition. This study aims to discuss English humor as a learning tool to improve students' efficacy in speaking English. The literature review method is used to review previous studies related to humor in teaching English. The result of this research is the effectiveness of humor for students' efficacy in English. With humor, the classroom atmosphere becomes more relaxed which makes both teachers and students relax so that the transfer of knowledge from teacher to student is much easier. This learning condition increases students' self-efficacy or confidence in speaking English. The conclusion of this study is that English humor is useful for increasing students' efficacy in speaking English, especially if the humor has been selected by the teacher in advance according to the average competence of the students in the class. Thus, students not only learn new English vocabulary or structures, but can also be entertained by understanding the punch line of humor.
