Plagiarism Policy

The Forum for University Scholars in Interdisciplinary Opportunities and Networking Conference is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and originality. Plagiarism in any form is considered unethical and unacceptable. The journal adopts a strict policy to ensure that all submitted manuscripts are free from any form of plagiarism.

1. Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism involves the use of another author's words, ideas, or findings without proper acknowledgment. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Directly copying text without citation.
  • Paraphrasing substantial portions of another's work without proper attribution.
  • Claiming someone else's research, theories, or results as one's own.
  • Self-plagiarism, which refers to reusing one's previously published work without appropriate citation.

2. Screening Process

All submitted manuscripts are subject to plagiarism detection using reputable software (e.g., Turnitin or other similar tools) as part of the journal's editorial process. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarized material will be returned to the authors for revision or may be outright rejected, depending on the severity of the violation.

3. Plagiarism Handling

If plagiarism is detected at any stage of the publication process (submission, peer review, or post-publication), the following actions will be taken:

  • Minor Plagiarism: If only a small portion of the manuscript is identified as plagiarized (e.g., a few sentences), the authors will be asked to rewrite the plagiarized sections and provide appropriate citations. The revised manuscript will undergo further review.
  • Major Plagiarism: If significant portions of the manuscript are found to be plagiarized or if the plagiarism is deliberate, the manuscript will be rejected immediately. The authors will be notified, and their institution may be informed if deemed necessary.

4. Self-Plagiarism

Authors should avoid excessive reuse of their previously published work. If any part of a submitted manuscript has been published elsewhere, it must be cited appropriately. Manuscripts that have been previously published in full in another journal or conference will not be considered for publication unless substantial new content is added.

5. Consequences of Plagiarism

In cases of confirmed plagiarism, the following actions may be taken:

  • Rejection of the manuscript.
  • Ban on future submissions from the authors involved.
  • Retraction of the published article (if plagiarism is detected post-publication), with an official statement from the journal.
  • Reporting the incident to the authors' affiliated institution.

6. Author Responsibility

Authors are fully responsible for ensuring the originality of their work. By submitting to the Forum for University Scholars in Interdisciplinary Opportunities and Networking Conference, authors confirm that their work is original and properly cited. They also agree to cooperate with the journal in resolving any plagiarism-related issues.

The journal takes plagiarism seriously and is committed to maintaining the integrity of the academic record. Authors are encouraged to review their manuscripts carefully and cite all sources accurately before submission.
