Publication Ethics

The Forum for University Scholars in Interdisciplinary Opportunities and Networking Conference is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. All parties involved in the publication process—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—are expected to adhere to the following ethical principles:

1. Responsibilities of Authors

  • Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original, and if they have used the work or words of others, this has been appropriately cited or quoted.
  • Multiple Submissions: Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently.
  • Authorship: Only individuals who have significantly contributed to the research or manuscript should be listed as authors. All co-authors must approve the final version of the paper and agree to its submission.
  • Data Integrity: Authors should ensure that all data presented in the manuscript is accurate and truthful. Fabrication, falsification, or selective reporting of data is unethical and unacceptable.
  • Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or other significant conflicts of interest that might influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.

2. Responsibilities of Editors

  • Fair and Impartial Decisions: Editors are responsible for ensuring that all manuscripts are reviewed impartially and without bias, based solely on their intellectual content.
  • Confidentiality: Editors must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, or publisher.
  • Publication Decisions: Editors are responsible for deciding which articles submitted to the journal should be published, based on the peer review process and the relevance of the manuscript to the journal's scope.
  • Handling Conflicts of Interest: Editors must avoid conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in which they have competing interests.

3. Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Confidentiality: Any manuscript received for review must be treated as a confidential document and not shared with others without authorization.
  • Objectivity: Reviewers should evaluate manuscripts objectively, based on scientific merit, without personal biases or prejudices.
  • Timeliness: Reviewers are expected to provide feedback in a timely manner and inform the editor if they cannot complete the review process within the agreed time.
  • Acknowledgment of Sources: Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors, and notify the editor of any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and other published papers.

4. Responsibilities of Publisher

  • Publication Integrity: The publisher is committed to ensuring that editorial decisions are not influenced by external pressures and that all published content adheres to ethical standards.
  • Corrective Actions: In cases of ethical misconduct, the publisher will work with the editors to publish corrections, clarifications, retractions, or apologies when needed.
