This paper explores the application of blockchain technology as a solution to enhance the protection of health information. The objective is to assess how blockchain’s decentralized and transparent nature can secure electronic health records and facilitate better data management. Through a review of existing literature and case studies, the paper examines the mechanics of blockchain, focusing on its consensus protocols that ensure data integrity and ownership. Preliminary findings suggest that blockchain not only minimizes risks of unauthorized access but also promotes interoperability among disparate healthcare systems. The results indicate a significant potential for blockchain to transform patient care by providing a secure framework for managing sensitive information. Ultimately, this study underscores the importance of integrating blockchain technology into healthcare practices to safeguard patient data and enhance overall data security.
