The 3rd Open Society Conference (OSC) organized by the Faculty of Law, Social, and Political Sciences (FHISIP), Universitas Terbuka, adopts the theme “Digital Communication and Information Ecosystem in Pandemic and Post-Pandemic Era: Opportunities and Challenges.” The conference aims to explore the opportunities and challenges arising from the rapid development of digital communication and information ecosystems during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

The conference continues the series of annual international conferences organized by FHISIP-UT, although the event scheduled for 2020 could not be held. The selected theme reflects the growing importance of digital communication and information systems in responding to social, economic, and institutional changes caused by the pandemic and the transition toward the post-pandemic era. While digital technologies offer significant opportunities for communication, information exchange, and public services, they also present various challenges that need to be addressed by society and institutions.

To facilitate academic discussion, the conference focuses on six main sub-themes: (1) language, social, and cultural adaptation; (2) law transformation; (3) media and digital information literacy; (4) creative and strategic communication; (5) artificial intelligence in administration and taxation; and (6) public service transportation. The conference brings together guest speakers, academics, researchers, and practitioners from various universities and institutions across Indonesia.

Through this forum, participants are encouraged to share ideas and research findings to better understand and address the opportunities and challenges of digital communication and information ecosystems in the pandemic and post-pandemic era. The conference is expected to contribute to the development of knowledge and practical solutions in this rapidly evolving field.
