The Faculty of Law, Social and Political Sciences (FHISIP) at Universitas Terbuka is hosting the 4th Open Society Conference, themed “Perspectives and Impacts of Metaverse on Sustainable Development Goals.” This annual international conference explores how the metaverse can contribute to achieving SDGs.

The conference highlights seven sub-themes:

Cyber Security Challenges in Law Perspective

Digital Transformation and Changing Social Lifestyle

Human Capital Development Through Metaverse

Library and Information System in Metaverse Society

Creative Digital Economy in the Metaverse

Trends and Directions of Translation in Metaverse

The Future of Governance in the Metaverse World

Participants include guest speakers, academics, researchers, and practitioners from diverse institutions across Indonesia and abroad, such as Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Negeri Surabaya, Universitas Bina Nusantara, Universitas Hasanuddin, Universitas Sriwijaya, Universitas Udayana, Adam Mickiewicz University, and the Indonesia National Armed Forces, among many others.

The conference aims to broaden public and academic understanding of the metaverse, foster collaboration among institutions, and generate meaningful contributions to the use of technology—particularly the metaverse—in advancing sustainable development.
