Abstract

The direction of this study was to determine whether finger painting exercises could help vulnerable 4 to 6-year-old students at Larasati Kindergarten in Barurejo Village, Siliragung Regency, improve their fine motor skills. The Quantitative Descriptive Method was used in the action research of this research class, and the data collection strategy included observation and documentation. The research will be carried out in May of the even semester of the 2023-2024 academic year. The findings of the study showed that applying finger-painting activities had helped improve students' fine motor skills, as evidenced by an increase in the percentage of pre-cycle conditions, which was 16% before the introduction of finger-painting techniques, which increased to 52%. The percentage in the first cycle of the very well-developed indicator was observed to be superior in the first cycle after the implementation of finger-painting activities, showing how finger-painting exercises are a proven method in research to help children develop their fine motor skills. In conclusion, children at Larasari Kindergarten in Barurejo Village, Siliragung District, Banyuwangi Regency, aged 4-6 years, may benefit from finger painting techniques to improve their fine motor skills early in life. Children can improve their fine motor skills and their hand-eye coordination with finger painting, but understanding these techniques can also be beneficial for early childhood learners by offering games that help train children's fine motor skills. The conclusion of the study suggests that children's exercises can improve their fine motor skills with finger painting and that instructors and school administrators should be able to engage children in more imaginative and creative ways.
