About the Conference Proceedings Series
Multidisciplinary research refers to combining several specialized branches of learning or fields of expertise. This broader approach to scientific research has developed from the need to answer complex questions, which a single discipline is unable to handle. Going into defining multidisciplinary research leads us to knowledge associated with several academic disciplines. In practice, multidisciplinary teams are composed of individuals coming from various disciplines.
Today multidisciplinary research is considered the driver of innovation and research. We live in a fast-changing world with complex, interdependent systems and subsystems. In today knowledge landscape, there are powerful drivers for multidisciplinary research. Through simple collaboration, researchers from different disciplines can accomplish more by teaming. However, collaboration multidisciplinary research also faces challenges to create innovation research. To discuss the innovation challenges in multidisciplinary research, the Institute of Research and Community Services of the Universitas Terbuka took the initiative to organize an international seminar with the theme Collaborative Synergy for Deepening Research Understanding Towards Internationalization.
